Bar and restaurant on Kill Devil Hills' Beach Road, open daily from breakfast through dinner
Beachside Bistro sits right on Virginia Dare Trail — the Beach Road that runs along the oceanfront through Kill Devil Hills — at milepost 7, a short drive from the Wright Brothers National Memorial and the rest of the town's beach strip. It's a straightforward bar-and-restaurant combination: a table for breakfast, a return trip for dinner, or a stool at the bar for a drink after a day on the sand.
Because it keeps the same schedule seven days a week, Beachside Bistro is a dependable option for an early breakfast after a sunrise beach walk or a late dinner once the rest of the strip has slowed down. It's worth calling ahead or checking the website for current details, particularly heading into hurricane season (August through October), when hours at Beach Road spots can shift with the weather.

Check your receipts - I was overcharged! I've been to this place several times over the last few years. Food is pretty good - decently priced seafood fare. Service is typical OBX chill, but if you remind your server four times that you're waiting on your side you'll eventually get it. Last weekend I went here to order a large ($100+) takeout order at 445pm - intentionally early to beat the dinner rush because I knew they had a small kitchen. I sat at the bar, had two drinks, ordered my food, and commiserated with the bartender. When my order came, two items were missing so I had to wait another 15 minutes for those. Once I got everything I ordered I left a $25 cash tip - for 2 drinks and a takeout order - signed my receipt, and left. The next day I see my card charged for exactly $30 more than the receipt. So the bartender pocketed my cash tip then gave herself an extra $30 on my card. I called twice but was answered once by someone with a language barrier and the second time they indicated there was nothing they could do and I should take it up with my credit company. Used to like coming here for decent seafood and drinks; now I'll never step foot in the place again.

Ya know, for a little hotel restaurant this place has the most amazing, freshest food! They often change around their menu and there are always delicious options. I had amazing swordfish in a sherry cream sauce with rice and a succulent veggie medley with delicious seasonings. This is always a great stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! You’d be surprised how well prepared their food is. The servers and host are always super friendly and fast as well! 😊
