A no-frills breakfast-and-lunch grill on Croatan Highway, open daily from 7 to 1
Bob's Grill OBX sits on Croatan Highway (US-158) through Kill Devil Hills, right in the heart of the northern Outer Banks' main commercial strip. It's an early-hours operation — open daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., seven days a week — making it a straightforward stop for breakfast or an early lunch before the beach day gets going.
As the name suggests, this is grill-style cooking: the kind of menu built around breakfast plates, burgers, and sandwiches rather than a late dinner service, priced in the moderate ($$) range. The consistent 7-to-1 schedule every day of the week means no guessing about hours during peak season, useful on a stretch of Croatan Highway where beach traffic can make timing matter. It's an easy stop for anyone staying nearby in Kill Devil Hills, or passing through on the way to Jockey's Ridge or the beach.
For current menu details or to confirm hours before visiting — especially outside peak season — call (252) 441-0707 or check the restaurant's website.

We had such a nice time at Bob’s. Our server was so sweet plus she got our entire order right after repeating it to us for accuracy. She kept my coffee cup full despite being busy. And the kicker was as sweet as she was, at the end of our meal she smiled and said “now get the hell out” — such a funny moment 😂 PS - Pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had! I tried to order some to-go on our way back home up north but when I called I was told the kitchen was too busy. Plan accordingly!
