Cape Cork & Bottle

A no-frills bar and bottle shop right on NC-12 in Avon

About

Cape Cork & Bottle sits directly on NC-12 in Avon, a straightforward, budget-friendly bar and bottle shop along the single road that connects the villages of Hatteras Island. Google categorizes it as a bar and night club rather than a full-service restaurant, so it's best thought of as a stop for a drink rather than a sit-down meal. At a $ price point, it fits the kind of easy, no-fuss night out that fills the gap between beach days on this stretch of the Outer Banks.

No hours are listed publicly for this spot, so call ahead at (252) 624-1838 or check their Facebook page for current hours and any updates before making the trip. Avon itself is one of several strung-out villages on this narrower, more exposed section of the Outer Banks, entirely within Cape Hatteras National Seashore, connected to its neighbors only by NC-12 — a road that closes or washes out during storms with some regularity.

Hey guys, if you’re in Avon, make sure to check out Cork and Bottle for a refreshing drink! They’ve got a great selection of wines, tap beers, and other cool drinks — perfect for unwinding after a long kiteboarding or windsurfing session. A great spot to recharge, relax, and catch up with your crew! 🍷🍺🌊

What a gem! We were thrilled to stumble upon this adorable little bar while we were in town for kiteboarding. It's run by the friendliest couple who could not have made us feel more welcome. The beer selection was top-notch and thoughtfully curated. Be sure to stop by if you're in the area. We will definitely be back.

Quaint little beer and wine bar run by very friendly and welcoming couple. Excellent place to chill if you don't want to deal with huge crowds.
