About

Charis Coffee Company is a cafe and bakery on G Budleigh Street, a few blocks off the Shallowbag Bay waterfront in downtown Manteo — the walkable historic district that anchors Roanoke Island, a different world from the beach-town strips across the bridge. It's a straightforward coffee stop with a bakery case, the kind of place built around a morning routine rather than a destination meal. At a $ price point, it's set up for coffee and a pastry, not a full sit-down breakfast.

The hours mark it clearly as a morning-into-early-afternoon operation: open by 7 a.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. on Saturdays, and closed by 4 p.m. every day it's open. It's closed on Sundays entirely. If you're staying in Manteo or heading out to Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, the Elizabethan Gardens, or the downtown waterfront, it's a reasonable stop for coffee before the day's plans start — just don't count on it for an afternoon or evening visit.

  • Address: 107 G Budleigh St, Manteo, NC 27954
  • Hours: 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday
  • Price range: $
  • Phone: (252) 423-3333

Everything is so overpriced! I payed nearly $15 for two large lattes which is absurd! Which also means the pricing on their website was incorrect meaning false advertisement! (Which is illegal in the food industry under state and federal law) The coffee looked nothing like the pictures posted around the cafe! Overall terrible experience! Do not recommend!

This was not today, but recent. While the coffee was delicious, the customer was otherwise! Nothing specific but everyone was so rude! While it’s a heavily Christian centered establishment, everyone seemed upset with each-other as well as rude and unkind to those who seemed not so Christian. As a family on vacation, with young children, this was just disappointing.
