Dajio

A full day of lunch and dinner service right on Ocracoke's main road

About

Dajio serves lunch through dinner on Irvin Garrish Highway, the main road through Ocracoke village, with hours that run 11am to 9pm, seven days a week. It's a mid-range spot ($$), one of a limited number of full-service restaurants on an island with no bridge or road connection to the mainland — every visitor and every delivery arrives either by the free ferry from Hatteras village or the longer toll ferries from Cedar Island and Swan Quarter.

The village itself is compact, built up around Silver Lake Harbor, so Dajio is easy to find without much searching once you're off the boat. Hours that span both lunch and dinner without a midday closure make it a reliable option if you're timing a meal around a ferry schedule or coming in after a day at the beaches or the pony pens north of the village. Call ahead or check the restaurant's website for current menu details, since specifics beyond hours and price range aren't listed here.

For the area this is a great place to grab a bite if you are seeking different foods.

We didn't eat here this visit because we were going for brunch, specifically french toast that is shown on their menu here on Google. We've had breakfast/ brunch here before so we had no reason to think google was wrong. It is not hard for a business that wants to serve its customers to provide accurate and up to date info on google.
