Budget-friendly Mexican fare in the heart of Ocracoke village
El Mariachi Ocracoke serves Mexican fare on Lawton Lane, close to the center of the village that holds nearly all of the island's restaurants and shops. Since Ocracoke has no bridge or road connection — you get here by ferry from Hatteras, Cedar Island, or Swan Quarter, or by small plane to the island airstrip — a reliable, casual place to eat once you've made the crossing is worth knowing about. This one keeps things simple: budget-friendly pricing and long hours most of the week, open from 8am to 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with shorter 8am-to-3pm hours on Wednesday and Sunday.

We had the shrimp quesadilla and it was delicious! The shrimp were succulent and being freshly made paired with queso was perfection! Can’t wait to come back!
