Entering the restaurant was as unwelcoming as you can imagine… and by the manager. Once we walked in, we waited just over a minute and no one had approached us. So I stepped around the corner to see a heavyset lady sitting doing numbers on a calculator. I said “hi”. She said “can I help you”, rudely. As if I had walked in a private setting just to interrupt her concentration. I asked “this is a restaurant, correct?” She replied “yes, can I help you?” Again, it was in a rude tone. So I said, “we are here to eat.” At that point, she barked orders to another employee who is on the other side of her to sit us. This employee was also not personable and had the personality of an oak tree. Lucky for us, that’s the last we had to deal with those two.
It only got better from there. Jimmy was our waiter and did an excellent job. Very personable and very attentive. And When you’re spending $30-$40 a person, you expect to be treated with some amount of respect and happiness. Jimmy did great. The drinks were good, and for the most part, the food was delicious.
First impressions are everything. If this is the attitude of the Management all the time, I would imagine your sales are going down year over year, every year. Now you know why. If she is the owner, do something to get happy. Or stay away from your customers. You are not built for the hospitality industry. Your misery is contagious.
We sat outside on the deck at Good Winds Seafood & Wine Bar and had an amazing experience. The waterfront view was peaceful and relaxing, the service was absolutely excellent, and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the flounder platter and the baked oyster rockefeller — both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Definitely one of our favorite meals in the Outer Banks.
Ate here twice in 3 days it was so good! Everything we had was excellent. The owner and staff are VERY friendly, good draft beer selection (with some local options), right on the water, laid back vibe.… tuna nachos and mahi tacos were next level,10/10.
we had dinner there tonight! sat right ip front! and 7 frat boys in polo shirts and shorts, tried to bully the service person, She had a table ready for them and as she cMe to seat them, they started running out the door as to dodge the table! not to mention the high five and loud clapping, blocking the whole hostess area, they def lacked manners and Kuth! id be embarred if my kids acted like that in public! then leave a review! They left out how the slammed the door, and yelled down the hall, then cae back to bully the women at the hostess stand, threatening a bad review! She responded with leave please or i will call the police! Yall are disrespectful and disrupting our dinner service! They finally left! So Elijah Snyder and Will Herndon, lets hope she doesnt look yall up for deformation of character! Making a false statement against a person! Yall should be ashamed of your self! Spoiled Brats!! kudos to Goodwinds! for not standing for their temper tantrum!!!!!!! on a side note! our food was delicious!!! we had the black seabass!!!! yum!! keep uour head up goodwinds! people will always be people! yall rock!!!!!!
This place was affordable and delicious. It was busy when we showed up but we hit the bar and got seated in short order. The view of the sound is absolutely stunning and the people that work there were very friendly. My only complaint was the wait for the food was a bit long but they were busy and the food came out perfectly prepared. I bought the BBQ bacon burger and was very pleased with the presentation and my tater tots were perfectly fried. Everyone else at my table ordered various different meals and everyone was satisfied. This place has a very cool gift shop underneath it too so it's the perfect tourist destination at an affordable price. Highly recommend!
