About

ISOLA Pizzeria and Bar sits on NC-12 in Hatteras village, close to the island's southern tip where the road ends at the ferry docks. It's a casual, no-frills pizza-and-bar setup — the kind of low-key spot that fits a village this small, without a lot of pretense or a menu built around tourist season.

Hours

  • Wednesday–Sunday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Closed Monday and Tuesday

The name is a nice touch: isola is Italian for "island," fitting for a pizzeria at the far southern end of Hatteras. Price range is budget-friendly ($), making it a reasonable stop after a day on the beach, off an ORV ramp, or with time to kill before the free NC ferry to Ocracoke, which departs from Hatteras village just down the road. Because this stretch of the island is narrow and exposed, it's worth checking NC-12 conditions after storms roll through — the road here closes more readily than in the villages up the seashore.

Got half marg and half meatloaves. It was great. Crust was crispy. Not a New York slice, but damn near the same.

The apps and drinks were so good!! We got garlic parm wings - great size, super golden crispy and well seasoned (and piping hot!), jumbo pretzel with cheese - could’ve been a softer pretzel but the seasoning and cheese made it incredible regardless, and the tobacco onions - these were shoestring onion rings for only $3 we got a bunch. They were SO yummy I couldn’t stop eating them. Then the spicy pineapple and cucumber lemonade specially cocktails were amazing as well Our server was super nice as well.

My chicken parmesan sub was dry, the chicken, sauce and cheese all tasted great but there was very little cheese and sauce so the chicken was plain and dry tasting. When I went to eat the sub the bread wasn't on the bottom so the whole sub was a mess, instead of bread in the bottom it was open like a sandwich instead of a sub. The restaurant itself was really nice looking with a good looking bar area. The staff were nice. I just didn't really love the sub I ate.
