Jason's Restaurant sits along Irvin Garrish Highway in Ocracoke village, within easy walking distance of Silver Lake Harbor. It's a lunch-only kitchen, open daily except Sunday, with a late-morning-to-mid-afternoon window that fits a village built around ferry schedules and harbor traffic more than late dinners.
Because the kitchen closes well before evening, it works best as a midday stop — before heading north on NC-12 toward the pony pen and the beach-access ramps, or before catching an afternoon ferry back to Hatteras, Cedar Island, or Swan Quarter. Plan lunch around the schedule rather than assuming it'll be open whenever you wander in.

Came for dinner. Being vegetarian/vegan makes choices difficult, but this place worked out for us! Got a veggie pizza (one with pesto sauce, one with marinara). Twins got pesto pasta with spinach. Service was good. Atmosphere was typical beach Cafe.

You can always expect a great meal at Jason‘s deli. The Caesar salad with shrimp is delicious..

The food was pretty good, our options were limited because it was the off season. I essentially ordered a Mcchicken. But the server was kind and the food hit the spot. Not much else you can ask for. A good place.

Found ourselves craving fresh seafood and decided to grab lunch at Jason’s. Despite the place being quite busy, we were seated within about five minutes—a promising start! We ordered a variety of dishes: the cold Italian sub, spicy chicken wings, Greek salad with blackened shrimp, blackened fresh fish sandwich, and blackened shrimp dinner. COLD ITALIAN SUB The cold Italian sub came with chips and was flavorful and satisfying. Wish it had more seasoning and spice, but it was good nonetheless. SPICY CHICKEN WINGS The spicy chicken wings had a nice kick, but weren’t overwhelming. Would’ve been great if they were more flavorful, but they were fried nicely. GREEK SALAD The Greek salad with blackened shrimp was fresh, with perfectly seasoned shrimp that added a great smoky depth. All the ingredients were fresh and crunchy. Feta wasn’t overwhelming, just perfect. FRESH FISH SANDWICH The blackened fresh fish sandwich, also served with chips, was a highlight with its flaky, well-seasoned fish. SHRIMP DINNER The blackened shrimp dinner, which came with garlic bread and cocktail sauce, was another standout—generous portions and bursting with flavor. The garlic bread was delish and went with the shrimp, which was cooked to perfection. Super tender and juicy. Service was fast and friendly, making the experience even better. Overall, Jason’s delivered on both taste and efficiency, and it’s a spot I’d happily return to for a quick and delicious seafood fix!

Recommended by my host, it was also one of the few places open in the early season. When I arrived around 7:15ish, there was plenty of seating but it soon filled up, including the couple of counter seats. The servers were quick to get to everyone despite a "seat yourself wherever" policy, or you can order to-go. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a separate gluten- free menu with lots of options; I risked it and order a pizza, which was delicious and I highly recommend.
