Marauder's Kitchen sits on Irvin Garrish Highway in Ocracoke village, open for lunch through dinner every day of the week. The name plays off real history — Ocracoke Inlet is where Blackbeard was killed in a 1718 battle, and pirate lore runs deep on this island long before any restaurant picked up the theme. At a $$ price point, it's a straightforward stop for a meal after coming in on one of the ferries that are the only way to reach this end of the Outer Banks: the free hour-long run from Hatteras village, or the longer toll routes from Cedar Island or Swan Quarter on the mainland.

AN OCRACOKE GEM !! FABULOUS FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE !! This is a really fabulous spot to enjoy some very well crafted food (and some 1718 beer). The fish tacos are made by a true kitchen ARTIST. They are unique in their blend of fresh ingredients and outstanding balance. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. I give this restaurant my highest score of 5/5. Had the shrimp ceviche special (which was very good) and some nice, crispy hot wings to go with our beer flights. Everything was fresh tasting and a perfect match for our beers. The lady helping us was funny and very nice. The overall place plays chill music and sometimes live music. This is the kitchen service for the brewery.

Went in to have a beer (excellent too by the way!) at 1718 and decided to have dinner at Marauder’s. So glad we did!! It was the best fresh fish sandwich I’ve had in possibly forever! We had our fish blackened and the spices were just right. Their homemade coleslaw was spot on as well. And they were so friendly and kind. Service was not even 10 minutes to get our food. We are definitely going back again to get another taste of their yummy food before we leave!

The specials are very, very good. With the departure of Eduardo’s, this will be my new go-to spot for Mexican food on the island. The shrimp empanadas and chicken chimichanga 🔥🔥🔥 The regular menu items are noticeably less good, but who needs ‘em. There are plenty of other places to get burgers, fried seafood and french fries.

I really wish restaurants didn't charge based on views. It's about the flavor and service. If your menu has this little of options and charges so much for each of them I don't see how business is running. Live music is too loud and not family friendly. Especially for those with kids sensitive to noise. The staff is friendly and it's a nice little spot but it's right by the dump..... But the water is there so let's upcharge.
