Bring your dog for lunch! I suspect the front deck will be too crowded during dinner in the busy season, but there was plenty of room for us and our beagle today. There isn't a view from the deck, if you want that, but it is nicely shaded and the fans they have make it comfortable. The service was great and so was the food. My tuna sandwich was super raw, exactly like I wanted. And it tasted great. Get the pickle sample plate. The owner loves to make pickles. And they are good.
What a fantastic restaurant with extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. We were honored to be waited on by Jose. He is one of a kind. We happened to run into him on a pier nearby and he was able to capture our engagement on video for us and highly recommended his restaurant for a celebratory dinner. We are SO grateful for him!
The staff were so welcoming and supportive. The food was very yummy and the drinks were delicious! Large place right in the back of the parking lot. Would highly recommend this place! Thank you Jose and the staff for making our trip to OBX memorable. We will be back next year!
P.s. for legal reasons, Jose wasn’t actually drinking the champagne he poured us. It was my family’s! We just wanted him to cheers us for the picture.

Going into it, we knew we had a large group, so we didn’t focus too much on the prices since this was one of the few places that could accommodate us at dinner time. However, after seeing the portion sizes, the pricing became even harder to justify.
Our waitress allowed me to order from the kids’ menu because I wasn’t very hungry and assumed the portion would be smaller. I was shocked when it still cost $26—and even more surprised when my meal arrived. The kids’ portion was identical to the adult version (which I believe was around $50) of the same dish. The only difference in the kids and adult meal was the side crab cake or whatever it was.
My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon, and it looked and tasted more like a pork tenderloin. It certainly didn’t reflect the price and quality the restaurant advertises. He sent it back and simply asked for a different cut or for it to be remade. It didn’t come back until after everyone else had finished eating and had already paid. At that point, we no longer wanted it.
Unfortunately, the service only added to the disappointment. Once our food was delivered, our waitress never checked back to see how everything was. We eventually had to flag her down ourselves to let her know about the filet. We also had to ask for drink refills, and even then, only a few of the empty glasses at the table were refilled throughout the entire meal.
For the prices this restaurant charges, we expected much better food quality and a much higher level of service. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and not one I would recommend.
Place was unremarkable and low-key. I had ordered a meatball hoagie...meatballs were of a beef/pork blend with mozzarella cheese and pasta sauce. Came with hand cut shoestring fries. Hoagie was dry...needed more sauce and I did not care for the beef/pork blended of meats. My friend enjoyed her steak sandwich with handcut fries. We had started with a shareable plate of various cucumbers/pickles.
Mike and Dianna's Grill Room is a fantastic spot for dinner in Corolla! The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. We ordered the Surf and Turf and the 6oz filet—the beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and very tasty. The sides of mashed potatoes and steamed green beans were excellent, and we really enjoyed the rolls with olive oil beforehand. Make sure to save room for the Chocolate Delight dessert; the Oreo crust and chocolate mousse are delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back the next time we are in town.
