Went here on Thursday during our vacation for dinner around 8pm. Kitchen closes at 9 and they were having karaoke that night. We were told that there would be a 10 minute wait. After a half hour of waiting and not hearing anything else from a staff member, half of our family left to get pizza at Lisa’s and the other half stayed to wait it out. Ended up getting seated 40 minutes after our 10 minute wait time. Sat for 20 more minutes at the table and no one came to get drinks so we left. Came back on Saturday for dinner for a take-out order. We ordered a cheeseburger with mayo and lettuce, blackened mahi tacos, and a cheesesteak sub with no onions. After receiving our food and getting back to the house, the cheeseburger was completely plain with nothing other than a bun and burger, there was a hair in my mediocre-at-best fish tacos, and the cheesesteak sub had onions on it. Overall a terrible experience for food that is hardly sub-par. Don’t waste your time or money, go to Lisa’s for some great pizza! Or the Shiny Tiny Walk Up for some delicious seafood sandwiches.
Our initial service was OK but then the waitress disappeared. I’ve never had such a bad Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was hard and chunky another person‘s hamburger was so hard they couldn’t even bite into it. The experiences was not good whatsoever. It’s probably a great bar to drink and party with your friends, but to eat there and enjoy was absolutely horrible. We had to wait over 20 minutes just to get our bill and finally had to go inside to pay. Would never recommend this place to anybody unless you’re looking for a beer
My wife and I stopped in to grab a few drinks and a bite to eat. The waitress was great, and the drinks were pretty good, but the food was really overcooked. We ordered a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp, and seafood combo with 3 shrimp, a piece of flounder (which I am sure it was not flounder)and 3 fried oysters with fries.
Sadly, the fries were the best part of our dinner. Everything was overcooked and the seafood combo items were cooked in really old oil because the cornmeal batter was almost black. The cole slaw smelled, looked and tasted old, and honestly, it smelled like it was bathed in fish stock. The shrimp was really chewy and tough.
For the price of the food, we expected more, and the waitress offered to take it back, but who know how that would have turned out.
After one small bite of the slaw, and a few pieces of shrimp, we paid our tab and called it an evening. We will not be eating here again. I really hate that because we know that it's hard for businesses to survive in this area, but if you can't cook food better than that, maybe that's your sign.
Staff was incredibly friendly, they were able to seat our party of 10 quickly and comfortably, family friendly if you happen to have children with you. Menu is small but food is delicious and portions are quite generous. There are also picnic tables outside with a gorgeous view of the sound. Very clean bathrooms, one of the nicest dive bars I've seen in a long time.
Amazing,amazing,amazing!! If you are looking for a down home feel, friendly staff, and great food this is your stop! Great drinks and staff that makes you feel like regulars even if you're only here for a week. Shrimp were Fantastic! Steamed muscled, full of flavor! Mahi tacos, on a fresh corn tortilla, so light and filling! We will definitelybe back to visit this place anytime we are in the area!!
