Ocracoke Coffee Company is a small cafe and bakery on Back Road in Ocracoke village, pouring coffee and baking pastries for early risers, ferry travelers, and anyone settling into island time. Doors open at 7 a.m. every day, which lines up well with the island's ferry schedules out of Hatteras, Cedar Island, and Swan Quarter — a reasonable stop before or after a boat ride that can run anywhere from about an hour to well over two.

It keeps things simple: counter-service coffee and baked goods, a $ price point, and hours built around a working morning rather than a leisurely one. Monday through Saturday it's open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday it closes at noon, so plan a later visit around that.

Ocracoke village — the only developed part of a roughly 13-mile island reachable solely by boat or small plane, with no bridge to the mainland — is compact and walkable, and a stop like this fits easily into a morning spent wandering toward Silver Lake or gearing up for a day on NC-12 toward the beach-access ramps to the north.

Expect to wait in line when you arrive, for us it took about 5 min. Ordered a 16 oz coffee and bagels. Had the medium roast coffee which was very good. Saw the blueberry muffin in the case, so glad I ordered it. The staff worked quickly to take your order. We sat inside in the backroom on the comfortable couch and they had a nice coffee table to put everything on. The blueberry muffin was very fresh and had a lot of blueberries packed in it. The decor was cozy eclectic and the vibe was relaxed. They do also have adequate parking for golf carts and cars. Would absolutely recommend.

You know when your waiter tries to remember your tables whole order and then comes back with all the right food. Ya that didn’t happen here, the barista was snappy and tried to memorize our orders. She had to ask us multiple times what the orders were again instead of writing it down on the cup. But you know what they say, the ruder, the barista, the better the drink. When we got our drinks we were satisfied and went to the porch. Definitely recommend getting the cronut! Satisfied!

Popular spot in small Okracoke, like was about 15 minutes, hot coffees about $6+, though they had some good flavors like mocha coconut. Has a restroom and nice outdoor patio covers and grassy.

My smoothie was very delicious and my Americana was right on point there was plenty of seating inside and outside to enjoy your coffee and pastries or bagel and everything was very nice. It was busy and there was a line but the wait was less than 10 minutes

This place is awesome. The smoothies are great and the coffee cakes are to die for. The inside decorations are cozy and well placed and the outside has a beautiful view on some really pretty seats. Staff was really understanding and nice too.
