About

Ocracoke Seafood Company sells fresh, local seafood in Ocracoke village, the only settlement on this ferry-only island. It's a retail market, not a sit-down restaurant, so the plan is straightforward: pick up whatever came off the boats that day and cook it yourself back at your rental or campsite.

That kind of market matters more here than most places. Ocracoke has no bridge or road connection — everything on the island, including seafood, moves through a small working-harbor economy built around the ferry schedule from Hatteras, Cedar Island, or Swan Quarter. A shop like this one is part of that everyday infrastructure, not something set up for visitors.

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10am-6pm
  • Saturday: 10am-4pm
  • Closed Wednesday and Sunday

Call ahead at (252) 928-5601 if you're after something specific. Plan around the shorter Saturday hours and the Wednesday closure, and keep in mind that ferry service — and businesses like this one — can be affected by storms during hurricane season, roughly August through October.

This place is great fresh seafood, and cheap ice. I definitely recommend coming here. I’ve been to Okracoke many times and never stopped by because they were closed in the winter. This is your one stop Shop for all the local and foreign seafood. They have it all. Thanks for being so great. I will be back.

They are so sweet and wholesome here! And you can't beat the ice deals!

Love love love coming here every trip to the island. The worker inside was incredibly friendly and helpful. Listening to what we wanted to do with the fish to suggest what we get. We ended up with the freshest sheepshead fish I have ever seen. Will always go back for fish every visit to the island
