Outer Banks Brewing Station sits right on Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills, brewing its own beer and running a full kitchen out of the same building — a combination that's harder to find on this stretch of the northern Outer Banks than you'd think. It's also easy to spot from the road: the brewery runs a wind turbine on site, one of the earlier examples in the country of a working brewery generating some of its own power that way.

Food and beer under one roof

This is a brewery and bar first, with a kitchen built to back it up — seafood, pub fare, and a menu built to hold up after a day at the beach or across a full sit-down dinner. The beer lineup is brewed in-house, so what's on tap changes with what the brewers are running that season.

Open daily starting at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and dinner
Bar and kitchen run until 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday close at midnight

No tables available, so we sat outside. We went outside and host was sitting in a shack didn't call us over or seen us. So finally, we made contact. She took us to our picnic table. NO MENU (QR CODE) and told us we would have to go to the bar and order our food and drinks. Went to the bar to order our drinks and food. Food was good had the Brisket sandwich. Beer can in a plastic tumbler style cup. Even though the beer was good had the plastic taste. We couldn't find a table inside, so we decided to sit outside. When we went out, the host was in a shack and did not acknowledge us or call us over. After a while, we managed to get her attention, and she took us to our picnic table. However, there was no menu available; we had to use a QR code. She instructed us to go to the bar to order our food and drinks. At the bar, I ordered a brisket sandwich and enjoyed it. The beer was served in a plastic tumbler, and while it tasted good, it had a slight plastic flavor. **Pros:** - Live entertainment - Cornhole - Playground - Good food - Nice and laid-back outdoor area **Cons:** - Service could be improved by adding at least one more waitress or waiter for the outdoor tables - Lack of clear direction upon entering the venue

Came here on my brother's recommendation. I don't drink beer, but they did have a decent wine selection and the food was outstanding. The fresh salsa with the chips and dips platter was top notch, and their personal version of bangers and mash was so tasty. Highly recommend.

We picked up carrot cake for take out. Busy popular restaurant. Kids love the backyard playground, and you can eat outside while they keep playing.
