Seafood Alfredo was excellent! If you like Jerry, Bob, Phil, Micky and Bill you'll want to pick up a shirt while you're there.

A straightforward tavern stop on NC-12 in Avon, right in the middle of Hatteras Island
Pangea Tavern sits along NC-12 in Avon, one of the villages strung along Hatteras Island inside Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It's a tavern-style restaurant with a moderate ($$) price point — a straightforward sit-down option for a meal and a drink, useful for travelers passing through mid-island or staying nearby for a few days.
Avon sits roughly midway down Hatteras Island, between the Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo villages to the north and Buxton — home to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse — to the south. NC-12 is the only road linking these villages, and it's prone to closures and washouts during storms, especially in hurricane season (June through November). This listing doesn't have visitor reviews on file yet, so it's worth calling ahead or checking the restaurant's own website to confirm current hours before making the drive, particularly during shoulder and hurricane season.

Ate here last year and although the food took a bit they did comp our meal . When the food arrived it was delicious and very reasonably priced. We had 2 small dogs and the staff were very accommodating to our pets .

One of my favorite restaurant experiences ever. The food service and atmosphere are all 10/10. My only critique is I wish it was open all year round so I could enjoy it more! Can’t wait to come back.
