⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Poor Richard’s was one of the highlights of our trip to the Outer Banks. I ordered the Cuban, and it was absolutely outstanding. It came on a grilled flatbread-style sandwich that was perfectly toasted, with great flavor and a perfect balance of ingredients. My wife ordered the Reuben, and it was every bit as good. We ended up trading halves so we could each try both sandwiches, and we’re glad we did because they were both fantastic. You can tell they take pride in their food. They use Boar’s Head meats, everything is made to order, and the quality really shows. The portions were generous, the ingredients were fresh, and every bite was delicious. The atmosphere was great as well. There is indoor seating along with outdoor seating where you can relax and enjoy views of the sound. The staff was friendly, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. One tip: get there early. The line starts growing pretty quickly after they open, and after eating there, it’s easy to see why. Excellent food, great atmosphere, and an overall outstanding experience. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Manteo.
