A no-frills Duck Road bar and grill for pub food and a cold beer
Roadside Bar & Grill sits right on Duck Road, a straightforward, no-fuss bar and grill in a town better known for its soundside boardwalk and boutique shops. It's the kind of casual stop where the draw is a cold beer and solid pub food rather than a scene — a place to grab a burger and settle in without dressing up for it.
The $$ price point puts it in line with other casual dining around Duck, and weekday hours run from 11am to 9pm, making it a solid option for a late lunch or dinner after a day at the beach or exploring Corolla's historic district a few miles up the road. Duck's compact, walkable layout makes it easy to pair a stop here with browsing the shops along Duck Road or a walk out to the soundside boardwalk. There's no website listed, so a quick call ahead is the best way to confirm current hours, particularly on weekends.

Maybe one of the most rudest experiences I just had in the last three years, especially with the owner of the establishment. All I asked was is the lobster roll. Good she replied. Do you really wanna ask that question? I’m the owner and then grilled me for two minutes when I’m just trying to figure out if it was good. Fries were great lobster roll was subpar salty and overcooked. Thanks owner

Called to place a takeout order tonight. Call taker advised me it was his 2nd day working. He did not know what sides they had just that they were “potato related”. He said they could not make the veggie burger to go as it was not on the to go menu…ok. Said if we came in person and ordered it we could then ask for a box to take it. 🙄 Arrived in person to order. Asked about the veggie burger and was handed the to go menu…fine we will order the burrito whatevs. While standing there watching the sides be packaged a chef leans over and interrupts the person packing our meal to tell her she has given us too much mashed potatoes. He then takes the container and removes half. The other 2 sides come in literal condiment containers. If you don’t want to do take away STOP OFFERING IT. Horrible experience and we will never return. I am sharing a pic of the mashed taters as they came. Will a single scoop of POTATOES truly bankrupt you? Business must be tough. 🥴
