What a great find! Lilly was a wonderful bartender. We stopped for lunch and a drink when we got in town from Virginia and she was so polite and service was fantastic. We had wings, BLT, and a chicken sandwich and all tasted delicious. Before we left Lilly told us we had to come to brunch and showed us the menue so of course we came back on sunday. We got to the sand trap Sunday morning and Pat was the bartender and was perfect! She made a great drink. We had the bloody Mary bar, the montecristo, eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits and it was a great start to a great Sunday! The place was also very clean as well as the bathrooms. We will definitely be back!
The BEST place in the Outer Banks! This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers.
The food was absolutely phenomenal—every dish was flavorful, fresh, and prepared to perfection. You can tell the chefs take pride in their craft because every bite was memorable. Compliments to the entire kitchen team for creating such an outstanding meal.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the combination of incredible food and exceptional service. It’s rare to find a place where every aspect of the experience exceeds expectations, but this restaurant did exactly that.
To the chefs, servers, and everyone behind the scenes: thank you for your hard work and dedication. You’ve earned a loyal customer, and I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know.

1st time here getting Dinner for take out. Bartender super friendly. Great food, atmosphere, menu selections. When I’m back in OBX, will definitely stop back again. I should’ve brought my club to golf, but next time I will.
What a great accidental find for a late breakfast on our vacation! We were looking for a breakfast spot and came across Sand Trap Tavern on Google Maps. We probably would have overlooked it otherwise because it’s located at a golf course. Our meals and drinks were great, but what stood out the most was that Chef Marnell stopped by our table to ask us if we were enjoying our meal. That kind of personal interaction turned our breakfast from just a meal to an actual experience. We ended up talking to him for quite a while—he had lots of great advice for our son, who is in a culinary program, and he invited us to stop by for brunch on our last day of vacation. The whole family is excited for one last good breakfast experience with Chef Marnell before we head back home.
Great little spot!! Stumbled on this place via Google search looking for late lunch while in Duck. It was tucked away off the main road (the address brought me to the golf cart parking area for the golf course just past the building… you need to actually take the first right to get to the parking lot) and was a cozy little restaurant/bar. Our server was super sweet and gave great recommendations. The wings were amazing!!!! Definitely worth stopping in for a quick lunch/drink.
