Excellent vibes. Highly recommend arriving around 5pm when they are unloading their daily catch. Super chill local spot with good food.

Waterfront bar and grill on Ocracoke village's main strip, open seven days a week
SmacNally's Waterfront Bar & Grill sits along Irvin Garrish Highway in Ocracoke village, a short walk from the docks and shops that ring Silver Lake Harbor. The kitchen and bar draw the same crowd you'd expect on an island reachable only by ferry: boaters tying up for the afternoon, day-trippers off the Hatteras run, and locals looking for a casual spot to eat and drink without dressing up for it.
The category listed for this spot is "Brewery & Bar," which points to a beer-forward drink menu alongside the food. The space works as both a restaurant and a straightforward bar — order a full meal or just pull up a stool. It's open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., covering lunch through early dinner without a late-night scene.
Because Ocracoke has no bridge or road connection to the rest of the Outer Banks, every visitor to SmacNally's has already made a deliberate trip to reach it — by the free NC ferry from Hatteras village, a longer toll ferry from Cedar Island or Swan Quarter, or private plane to the island airstrip. Factor that travel time into your plans, especially if you're aiming to catch a specific ferry back out.

Great food, great location, the squeaky umbrella left a lot to be desired. All and all would definitely go back it's always a favorite for our family.
