Sweet Seas
Coffee and baked goods on Marina Way, open early to late six days a week in Hatteras village
About
Sweet Seas is a cafe and bakery on Marina Way in Hatteras village, positioned near the harbor that anchors the southern end of Hatteras Island. It's a budget-friendly ($) spot for coffee and baked goods, open six days a week from 8am to 9pm and closed on Sundays — early enough for a pre-charter coffee, open late enough to catch a treat after dinner.
Hatteras village sits at the far south end of Hatteras Island, inside Cape Hatteras National Seashore, where NC-12 ends at the free ferry dock for the ride across to Ocracoke Island. The village's economy still runs largely on its marinas and charter fishing fleet, and a Marina Way address puts Sweet Seas right in that working-harbor part of town. There's no phone number or website listed yet, so the easiest plan is simply to stop by during posted hours.

Most delicious ice cream in the OBX!! Handmade, great flavor selection, and you can tell the owner loves what he does. Nice strong coffee options as well. You gotta check it out!!!

This place is truly a gem. The homemade ice cream is like nothing I’ve ever tasted and the code is great too!

I'm not sure if I remember right but Bryan, he opens the place at 2 A.M. I've never met another human being like him. Great guy, will crack jokes, and is definitely the nicest I've met on my vacation. We sat outside for nearly an hour talking about life and experiences. I'm thankful for it. You work hard for good reasons, man. Thanks for offering that cup of coffee this morning. And, I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong. It's better to hear the hard truths about life than the comforting lies.

While my Mom, daughter and myself stayed on the island for a week and we searched for the best coffee spot- and we found it! The gentleman that owns this cute coffee shop was so kind, hardworking and has the best coffee in the area! We went every morning for the rest of our trip and had to stop on our way home. 10/10
