Casual dining right on the marina in Hatteras village, near the Ocracoke ferry
The Galley is a casual, moderately priced restaurant at 58848 Marina Way in Hatteras village, on the harbor that marks the southern end of Hatteras Island. It sits right among the marina's boat slips, a short walk from where the free NC ferry departs for Ocracoke Island.
Hatteras village is the last stop on NC-12 as it runs the length of Cape Hatteras National Seashore south from Avon and Buxton — a working harbor community built around charter fishing and the ferry, not a resort strip. The Galley's spot right on the marina puts it in the middle of that daily rhythm: boats coming in, ferry traffic loading and unloading, day-trippers grabbing a meal before heading back up-island or on to Ocracoke.
It's priced in the $$ range — a straightforward option for a sit-down meal without much advance planning, and it stays open later than the rest of the week on Mondays.

Amazing fresh food!! Super dependable and consistent. Great spot if you are waiting in line to get on ferry to go over to Ocracoke (can take a while to wait on ferry and food slaps in the back of the pickup)

Absolutely amazing food! Worth waiting for. Got the Island burger and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Highly recommend!

Visited The Galley today for the first time. I asked them what was a must try and they said the Captains Crab Melt. So I ordered that and mozzarella sticks that looked like they came out of a food magazine. The Crab Melt was bussin’ as kids these days would say. Cute little place, amazing staff and even better food! Go Getcha Some!
