We have been coming for seven years now and each time we eat at the Jolly Roger at least twice on our trip the food is amazing and last night we had Hailey as our waitress and she was awesome. She was friendly, always checked on us and sweet! Our food came out great it was hot. It was fresh. The drinks were delicious the best bloody Mary. I love your quirky, fun atmosphere restaurant. We are absolutely going to try the breakfast. thank you so much for keeping this cool little vibe quirky place alive and we will continue to visit every time we come to OBX.
I have never walked in to a place and had a more perfect experience beginning to end! The parking was amazing, no wait at all, perfect booth for my husband and I. Our waiter Nikolay WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! He was so kind and friendly and so quick! We didn’t have to wait on food long at all, and the food was AMAZING. He asked if we wanted desert and we said nooooo but he said let me bring out a tray of parfaits…. Immediately my husband and I said key lime!!! It was delicious…we would’ve missed out if he hadn’t of showed us. I don’t leave reviews often, but when a business is 10/10 from beginning to end, it needs to be praised. Service was so good my husband tipped, then I tipped again. Also it has a boho pirate feel with lots of awesome things to look at it, however I saw no dust on anything. Someone takes pride in this business as they should. One more thing, the meaty Mary…. Who thought of this bc whatever is in that mix is insanely wonderful! Thank you all for a cherished experience.
Ok so I wanted to love this place but it just wasn’t it. We didn’t really have to wait long for a table so that was a win, but they put us in the very back near the bar area and it was FREEZING! The table was sticky from the last guest. Our waitress was not the best, she was fell a bit short when it came to service. We all ordered our food and the salad for one came out, we had to ask again for the second salad. The other food came out pretty quickly and overall it tasted good but it was hard to enjoy because it was so cold, we did tell our waitress that it was cold and she said she would ask them to check on it. The fried shrimp was seasoned well and the coleslaw was good. We also got some pasta which was pretty good. The crab dip was delicious. Overall it wasn’t the worst place we have been to but not the best either. The fact that it was so cold and our waitress not being the best was enough that we likely wouldn’t return in the future.
Came by this spot in NC, be in for a surprise! As our server Jessica says, “you’ll never know what you’ll see”. Well, guess you can see for yourself.
Food is good, surprised that their Seafood Cioppino comes in a pasta form; nevertheless taste is good. Hubby ordered lasagna good, on the salty side.
Our server is very accommodating and checks on us frequently. My spicy margarita was very strong, or perhaps I’m really just lightweight. Definitely a must try if you happened the area.
The food took a little longer than I'm used to waiting (a little longer than 45 minutes) but the food was good. The food was not as hot as I would expect if it came directly from however it was cooked. The sausage & peppers were over salted. Our bill was $132.88 for 2 salads, sausage & peppers, garlic toast, bread and marinara, kids cheeseburger & fries, kids spaghetti & cheese, she-crab soup, 2 seafood lasagnas, 1 pink lemonade, and 2 kids souvenir cups.
