About

The Salty Rim sits on Corolla Village Road, the road that threads through Corolla's historic district past the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the Whalehead Club. It's an easygoing, casually priced spot — the name itself hints at margarita-and-good-times energy — the kind of place you duck into after a morning at the lighthouse without needing a reservation.

Good to Know

  • Open all seven days, from 11 a.m. into the evening, with Sunday closing an hour earlier than the rest of the week
  • Price point: on the more affordable end for Corolla dining, per its listed price range
  • Set inland on Corolla Village Road rather than oceanfront, so regular car access applies — no 4x4 needed to reach it

Corolla Village Road runs through the town's historic core, making The Salty Rim a convenient stop after a climb up the lighthouse or a walk through the shops and galleries nearby. For hours, directions, or specifics on any given visit, the restaurant's own site and phone line are the most current source.

The Salty Rim is the best outdoor/indoor beachside restaurant/bar in the outer banks! Menu is rotating and excellent; owners and employees are all super friendly, low key, and accommodating.

Was a great quiet and enjoyable experience, music wasn’t loud, atmosphere was great, had a very spicy Bloody Mary and they did not disappoint, along with the empanadas, pricing is very affordable for the amount of food given, would recommend stopping by for food or a quick drink with friends or family.

Food and drinks were amazing, service was great (not rushed and not ignored), sat on the balcony got a nice view with the lighthouse and was able to relax. 10/10 will definitely be back and would highly recommend

I ordered a taco bar setup for 20 people (13 adults and 7 kids) with chicken, barbacoa, and shrimp, along with a few kids meals. Lynn was fabulous to coordinate with and made the ordering process very easy. I picked up the food and brought it back to our beach rental that was 15 minutes away. All of the food was packaged well and remained hot for serving - I couldn't believe that the tortillas were still warm, even when I was packing up the leftovers after we all finished eating! Everyone loved the food and also enjoyed the leftovers for lunch and late night nachos! Highly recommend checking out The Salty Rim!! 10/10!

The food was really good, but unfortunately the service was not great. There was no air conditioning, so it was extremely hot inside. They did have fans running, which helped slightly, but it was still pretty uncomfortable while trying to enjoy our meal. seating limited.
