This is a hard one to rate because most hotels in the outer banks are older and more run down than many other beach towns. If you do find yourself looking for a hotel and not a house or Airbnb, this place definitely has a lot to offer. Location was great and the views from the room are truly amazing. Right on the beach so just stroll down the dunes and you’re at the ocean. Really nice indoor pool here too, which was nice when it was really hot or raining.
The cons would be what most other hotels would be in the area, mainly related to being an older location. The elevator was broken but luckily we were only on the second floor, couldn’t imagine being on the 5th. The room wasn’t disgusting, but it was dirty with clearly killed bug guts on the walls and ceiling. Bugs could easily get in as your right by the ocean, but the front door also had a pretty large gap and is open air. The bathroom could use a lot of tlc, and the bathtubs don’t drain in real time, the water only goes away about a half hour later. Was told by the front desk it was a mix of sandy beach and older pipes.
Overall for what it is I would definitely recommend, just don’t expect it to be a Hilton resort or anything.
Hotel is in an amazing spot. Great beach and pool. We were in the side building not the main beach view building. Room had plenty of space for us and the baby. The hotel is old and normal wear and tear but needs some updating and renovations. Pricing is decent. All staff were kind and very helpful.
The lobby ceiling was leaking. Our bathroom door didnt latch. The mini fridge trim to keep the door sealed was broken. The carpet in the room is gross and I would have not known if I didnt have a crawling baby. The tops of his feet were black constantly from crawling around in the room. I think this is a wonderful place just needs some love and renovations.
I gave this hotel 5 stars for cleanliness and privacy. This is an old building that does need repair but to me as long as the rooms/bathrooms are clean, I'm good. The staff there were so pleasant. We were lucky to get a 5th floor room. The balcony was clean, had privacy with a great view. The beachside bistro on the premises was so convenient and tasty for meals and drinks. We had a refrigerator/freezer (worked well) and microwave. The was a separate small sink in the room which was convenient. We will come back!
It was just ok. I really thought it would be better by reading the reviews and seeing the pics. Unfortunately not, I was able to check in early as I went and asked. I booked a Kind Ocean front room and ended up getting a King 2 BR Ocean Front Ste. 1st thought would be GREAT, but it was extremely outdated. The kitchen was a hot mess, floor dirty, some dents in it I'm assuming from ppl wearing high heels. Coffee maker was half broke but worked. Again dated. Not that I had to use the 2nd BR shower but that thing looked old as anything and really nasty. The balcony was good, the bed was so so, kind of hard and the pillows were anything but a pillow, my arm was more support. Food was good down at the restaurant, drinks were good. The only thing I'm happy about is we didn't spend much time in the room, a nap, night sleep and shower and gone. I definitely would not go back as the price I paid was not for what I got except for a good view of Ocean. Wish I could get refunded something a night, but live and learn. I know next time. Do better Sea Ranch.
We have stayed here many times over the last few years and love it ! When we arrived the room was clean , smelled great and greeted us with that beautiful sight and sound of the ocean! The staff was very accommodating , friendly , and greeted us with a smile every time we arrived. Check-in was fast and easy. Any questions we had , were answered right away and the room and the beautiful , beautiful view was indescribable, to wake up in the morning and see the Sunrise and Have coffee in your room and a wonderful breakfast prepared at the bistro ,and then to go to the beach during the day and see dolphins playing in the water makes it an experience that is so memorable for family and friends. We recommend this Resort, as it is dependable and over the past few years many improvements have been made to update it and there is a grill outside if you wanna prepare your own food and they have a wonderful indoor pool for the days that it rains .You will feel like you’re at home and you’ll always come back . The rooms have a washer and dryer, a dishwasher , you have a stove and full-size refrigerator. You have a sofa bed two televisions, super great deal and again the staff is so wonderful. They keep it so clean. The rooms have a beach decor and they are oceanfront! We stay here in all seasons and one thing never changes, that gorgeous ocean view and the friendly staff!!
