About

The Village Table & Tavern sits on Duck Road in town, pairing a full bar with tavern-style food — a solid stop for a casual dinner or a round of drinks after a day at the beach. The listing's Brewery & Bar categorization and moderate $$ pricing point to an easygoing, pub-forward menu rather than a formal dining room.

Good to Know

  • Open six days a week, closed on Saturdays — worth planning around if a Saturday dinner is part of the trip.
  • Full bar alongside a food menu, in keeping with its Brewery & Bar listing.
  • Moderate, $$ pricing.

Duck is the smaller, quieter of the northern Outer Banks beach towns — a walkable stretch along Duck Road known for its soundside boardwalk, boutique shops, and a more low-key pace than the core beaches to the south. A tavern on Duck Road fits right into that rhythm: an easy walk or short drive from most places to stay in town, no need to head toward the busier beaches to the south. It's a reasonable pick for travelers based in Duck or Corolla who want a straightforward meal and a drink without much planning.

Ryan was very extensive with his explanations of the menu. Several of our menu items were unfortunately forgotten including sauces/ condiments. The atmosphere produced happy vibes. The food and drinks were delicious! Overall, a fairly pleasant experience at the village table and Tavern.

This is our second time coming here since first trying it last year, and it’s our favorite restaurant in the OBX. We drove 45 minutes from Nags Head because we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed again. For drinks, my husband had the village old-fashion and rye espresso martini, both of which he absolutely loved. We started with the goat cheese and feta hushpuppies. The cheese on the inside doesn’t overpower the classic hushpuppy taste, on top of the outside being perfectly crispy. For entrees, my husband got the seared sea scallops served with wild mushroom risotto, which were seared to perfection. I had the roasted half chicken served with lemon herb butter, whipped potatoes, butter garlic green beans. The chicken was brined for 24 hours, so it just fell right off the bones and was nice and juicy with a crispy skin. Finished off the meal with a warm peach cobbler served with house made vanilla ice cream. The peaches were fantastic and the ice cream was so flavorful and creamy. My husband quoted this entire experience as “the best meal he’s ever had”. We will definitely continue to come here every year we visit the OBX from PA.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely wonderful from beginning to end! The Village Table & Tavern was one of the highlights of our time in the Outer Banks. I ordered the scallop dish and absolutely EVERYTHING about it was delicious. The scallops were beautifully prepared and the entire dish was full of flavor. Truly one of those meals you keep thinking about afterward! The setting made the evening even more special. We had the most beautiful view of the sun setting over the Currituck Sound while we ate, and the whole atmosphere was warm, peaceful and lovely. Our service was exceptional. Our server was personable, genuinely kind and knew the menu so well she could answer our questions from memory. We had only a short wait, never felt rushed, and were cared for wonderfully throughout the evening. Even the owner took the time to be friendly and welcoming. Wonderful food, wonderful people, wonderful service and an absolutely beautiful waterfront setting. If you’re visiting Duck, don’t miss The Village Table & Tavern! We would absolutely come back. 🌅

Dinner was excellent appetizers came out quickly but the entrees took a long time Not sure why it took so long. A table next to us came in after us and finished and left before the entrees arrived. I have to say it was worth the wait because the entrees were really great. Enjoyed the rack of Elk and the beef rib.
