The Wreck Tiki Bar sits right on the marina in Hatteras village, at the far southern tip of Hatteras Island where NC-12 runs out and the free ferry to Ocracoke waits. It's a tiki-style bar and restaurant with the casual, salt-worn feel you'd expect this close to the water — the kind of spot where boat crews, anglers coming off a charter, and campers headed for the ferry line all end up on the same open-air deck.
The menu leans casual bar-and-grill, priced in the moderate ($$) range, with the kind of tropical drink list a tiki bar name implies. It's closed Mondays, and open from late morning through 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday — long enough to cover both a lunch stop and an evening drink after a day on the water. Sunday hours are shorter, running 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., so plan around that if you're passing through on a weekend.
Given the marina-front location, it's an easy stop to fold into a day that also includes fishing charters, boat rentals, or catching the ferry to Ocracoke — no far detour required.

Ive been coming to the wreck for years now. When we first started going there I met the owner Joel and I told him that this place is awesome! We always talk when we go there and its like talking with an old friend every time. We didn't get to go to the OBX last year so 2 weeks ago when we arrived we went 3 times during the week to eat and grab a beer. Best spot on the whole island in my opinion and the food is killer!

We stopped here on the way to the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Great little place. They had quesadillas that were really tasty. You get to decide your own ingredients. They have this green goddess sauce that is really good. I had to ask the waitress the ingredients which was sour cream, basil and lemon. It lived up to its name.

Our “go to” every year for a laid back dinner and a gorgeous sunset on the outside deck. The staff has always been friendly and the food has always been good! Perfectly situated near the ferry terminal, a small marina with docks you can walk around, and some cool shops.

Had a great experience here when exploring Hatteras! The service, drinks and food were all excellent. My husband and I shared both the Blackbeard’s Nachos and the Buffalo chicken quesadilla, and couldn’t decide which was better because they were both SO good! We also had your basic tiki drinks, including the rum runner, pirates punch and their drink special of the day. Our server was great. We decided to order the deck-friendly drinks after lunch to wander around the pier before visiting the shops. Nice service and overall a great way to spend the afternoon for lunch!

A great place, always have fun! From trivia night to karaoke, live music or just grabbing a bite it's always a great experience. All the staff is kind, helpful and attentive. The place is small, so just a heads up get there early for events to ensure a seat!
