My husband and I enjoyed everything about our dining experience from the welcoming hostess and manager, waiter Dante, ambience (beautifully decorated), and fabulous meal. I had a great cocktail to start We split the shrimp/scallop appetizer, a spring salad with blueberries, I had the strip steak and my husband had the grouper special. All delicious with local flair. Dessert was a fabulous lemon meringue pie! The history of the women of the Outer Banks is fascinating. Read about it! Vivian was there greeting guests and sadly we did not get to meet her, but got a nice signed thank you note! Our favorite place in Duck now!

Beautiful experience. Luda, my waitress was amazing! Food was delicious and exceeded the standard set by Chef Vivian. Lenoir in Charleston, SC is still my favorite of her restaurants but this one is my favoritein NC. Classic southern flavor and ingredients mixed with that bougie upscale feel that I love. The oysters and lemon pie were my favorite. Maybe I will meet you in person one day Vivian. But until then I will settle for the unique experience you bring to the culinary scene.

The highlights of our meal were the beautiful sunset, the dinner rolls with cheese curds and apple jam, and the lemon pie. The cocktails were unique and good, and so were the entrees. Everything was on the pricier side but delicious. The restaurant itself was beautiful as well.

As supporters and fans of Chef Vivian Howard since her PBS show “Chef & the Farmer” premiered we have dined at Chef & the Farmer in Kinston, NC and her ex Bens restaurant in Wilmington, NC so we wouldn’t miss an experience at Theodosia. Atmosphere is elegant! Worth the experience, but a few things to note… Service is exceptionally good but beware of being upsold by waiting staff (particularly prompting to upgrade to expensive water options and appetizers). Chair are low relative to the table height making for an odd dining position. Cocktails are nothing special yet pricey. Food is creative, artfully presented & delicious, but portions are modest. Food value for the dollar is not great, its pricey but you are paying for the experience. Check your itemized bill carefully. I was charged for items I did not order through the fault of the order/billing system; this was Not Intentional by the staff! Although the issue was eventually corrected, it took three weeks and far more effort than a simple credit card refund should require in this age of technology. Will return with this gained knowledge for an even better experience.

6/5/26 We had a great dinner & service in a beautiful setting and breath taking sunset view! The salad was very good! The tomato pie was excellent. The shrimp n crab slider and seafood chowder was as good as anything I ever ate. The lemon pie and the figgy pudding were delicious! Dante’s service was THE BEST!!! Thank You All Carol & Dave
