Turf's Up OBX

Turf's Up OBX is a brewery and bar on Croatan Highway (US-158) in Kitty Hawk, the northern anchor of the three towns that make up this end of the Outer Banks. It's an unfussy stop for a beer and a stretch of downtime between beach time and dinner plans — taps, a bar counter, and not much pretense.

Kitty Hawk sits along the same Croatan Highway corridor as Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, so Turf's Up is easy to fold into a day that starts at Wright Brothers National Memorial or wraps up near Jockey's Ridge — no detour required, just a stop along the strip. It's closed on Sundays, so plan a Saturday or weeknight visit, and it's worth a call ahead during hurricane season (June–November), when storm tracks can affect hours up and down the beach.
