Restaurant and market in one downtown Manteo stop, open all seven days
Vicki B's Restaurant & Market sits on Budleigh Street in downtown Manteo on Roanoke Island, combining a restaurant with a small market under one roof. It's a straightforward, moderately priced ($$) stop for a meal rather than a destination in itself — the kind of combined restaurant-and-market setup you'll find scattered through small Outer Banks towns, distinct from the beach-town restaurant strip across the Washington Baum Bridge at Whalebone Junction.
The restaurant is open every day of the week. Monday through Friday it runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday hours start a little earlier at 10 a.m. and run to 9 p.m., and Sunday closes earlier still, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. That shorter Sunday window is worth building into your plans if you're timing a visit around a day exploring Roanoke Island's historic sites on the island's north end. We stopped in today for lunch. It was our first visit and we will stop in again. This place is an old home converted into a restaurant. This adds to the uniqueness. The food was very good and our server was very friendly and energetic. I had the sausage gravy over biscuits and my wife had a soft shell crab sandwich. The prices were very reasonable. A "must do" if you are visiting Manteo.

My companions enjoyed their meals. One had soup and salad, another the blackened chicken wrap (a bit dry; pasta salad very tasty). One had the Cajun chicken pasta and said it was well spiced, but the pasta was over cooked. The Spring Bowl had a variety of veggies and rice noodle; it could have used some sauce or dressing. The grilled shrimp add on was well cooked, but $19 seems steep for what you receive. Service was attentive. We sat upstairs and it was a bit warm. Overall, a nice choice for a light lunch in downtown Manteo.

Visiting the area and decided we wanted some fresh seafood. We stopped at 2 other local places but the noise level was not what we were wanting, so took a chance on this place....so glad we stopped here! Desmond was our waiter and his recommendation of the warm triple cream with fig jam and baguette was amazing!! Highly recommend you try it... the kids loved it! The Mediterranean inspired flavors for the shrimp and rockfish dishes were absolutely delicious! Seriously some of the best seafood we have had in a long time. If you're wanting a more relaxed atmosphere with phenomenal food and service, do yourself a favor and try this place!!

Had a delightful breakfast here. It doesn’t look like a cafe. It looks like a person’s home. Don’t worry, the address IS correct. Affordable but super elegant (real flowers, table lamps, fancy napkins, etc.) They do brunch on Saturdays and Sundays!
