Rented a pontoon boat for four hours, my family had a blast. Our attendant, Cas was very friendly and helpful. Going para sailing tomorrow with Causeway, hoping for the same good, friendly service. Thanks, Bill Shaak

A Nags Head tour operator built around getting you out on the water
Causeway Watersports is a tour operator based on South Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head, right along the Beach Road corridor that runs the length of this part of the northern Outer Banks. True to the name, it's a watersports-focused operation — the kind of outfit built around guided tours and rental gear rather than souvenirs or lodging, aimed at visitors who want to get on the water without hauling their own equipment down.
This stretch of Nags Head sits on a narrow barrier island, with the Atlantic on one side and Roanoke Sound on the other, so water conditions and options can vary depending on which side of the island you're headed toward. It's worth calling ahead to confirm current offerings and availability for the day you're visiting, particularly outside the busiest summer stretch.
If you're planning a trip during hurricane season (June through November, with the highest risk from August through October), call ahead before heading out — conditions on this coast can change fast, and watersports operators adjust or cancel accordingly.

So single mom here with a pack of teens, I booked the one hour tour with captain John, everything about it was awesome. We had a beautiful boat ride, we saw a bunch of dolphins, and he gave us some history on all the islands out there. Just a relaxing morning. Highly recommend captain John and causeway sports

We had a fabulous time watching dolphins with Captain John. He is exactly the guy you want guiding your water adventure: laid-back, kind, professional, safe, knowledgeable, and humorous. He has 20-years of experience at Causeway Watersports and 28 years living in OBX. I am a curious geek and he answered every question I threw at him without hesitation. He shared loads of fun facts about dolphins and other wildlife, the history of the outer banks, the waters of the sound, and even the weather patterns of the area. His knowledge and experience really enhanced our trip. I think what I liked most was that Captain John seemed to share our joy as the first dorsal fin appeared to us and as we spotted more dolphins throughout our booking. It is obvious that he loves what he does. Thanks Captain John!

Cas did an excellent job leading our group today for a jet ski tour. Cas was very friendly and gave clear instructions. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful too. A great experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Matt and Connor were amazing guides today for our first ever parasailing adventure. It was so easy to book the same day. Check in staff were super friendly and efficient, and there was just a short drive to the boat. The experience itself was just exhilarating. Matt and Connor did great with making us feel safe and comfortable.
