Open daily 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on NC-12 in Rodanthe
HWY 12 Amusements sits right on NC-12 in Rodanthe, the northernmost of Hatteras Island's strung-out villages, reached by crossing the Marc Basnight Bridge over Oregon Inlet from the north. It keeps long, consistent hours — open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. — which makes it easy to work into a beach day or a drive south toward Waves and Salvo.
Specific details on what's inside aren't published beyond the name, so it's worth calling ahead or checking their Facebook page before planning a visit around a particular activity. That's good practice generally on this stretch of the island: NC-12 closes or washes out during storms with some regularity, and hurricane season (June through November, with the highest-risk window from August through October) can affect hours on short notice.

We took the boys to HWY 12 Amusements today and had such a good time! 🎮💖 We mostly stayed in the arcade/game area and the kids had an absolute blast. The games were fun, the place was clean, and it was the perfect spot for some family fun while in the Outer Banks. Watching the boys laugh, compete, and get excited over tickets and prizes made the whole trip worth it 🥹 Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Rodanthe with kids!

This place is awesome! Hwy 12 Amusements is super clean and has a great vibe from the moment you walk in. The mini golf was really fun, and the arcade section is packed with games seriously, there’s a ton to do. And the laser tag… top top TOP! So cool and definitely a must-try. You can tell they put effort into making it exciting. Perfect spot to hang out, have fun, and just enjoy the time. Will 100% be back!

Such a fun place! Hwy 12 Amusements is super clean, which honestly made the experience even better. The mini golf was really nice, and there are so many arcade games — way more than I expected. It’s easy to spend a lot of time there without getting bored. We didn’t try the laser tag this time, but definitely will next time. Great spot to relax, have fun, and just enjoy yourself.

I had a very disappointing experience here. I hit what appeared to be the jackpot twice, and both times the machine displayed that I had reached the maximum number of points it could generate. Instead of honoring what the machine showed, an employee walked over, told me I hadn’t actually won, said I should just keep playing, and then walked away. I ended up spending money across several machines and accumulated over 3,000 points, but after this experience I completely lost confidence in how the games are handled. If a machine displays a jackpot, customers shouldn’t be left wondering whether it will actually be honored. Based on my experience, I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this arcade to others. I would encourage anyone visiting to pay close attention to the machines and ask for clarification immediately if there’s any dispute about winnings.

We had a great time playing laser tag! We ranged in age from 8 to 48 and we all had a blast! We also played several games in the arcade.
