Ocean Sands

A Corolla address worth a quick call before you plan around it

About

Ocean Sands is a Corolla, NC address on the northern stretch of the Outer Banks' barrier island, several miles south of the shops, restaurants, and historic district built up around the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Whalehead Club. Corolla is a paved-road town — NC-12 runs through it before the pavement gives out farther north, where the road turns to open beach and the wild Spanish mustangs managed by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund roam freely. Ocean Sands sits comfortably within that paved section, well south of the 4x4-only area.

There's no website or posted hours on file for Ocean Sands, so the most reliable way to plan around it is a direct call to (252) 453-2105 ahead of your visit. Like the rest of this part of Corolla, expect things to run on a seasonal rhythm: busiest from Memorial Day through Labor Day, easier and quieter during the April–May and September–October shoulder seasons, with the real hurricane-season risk concentrated in August through October.
