A private beach boardwalk reserved for guests and owners of Duck's Ships Watch community
Ships Watch is one of Duck's established vacation-rental communities, and this beach access boardwalk is one of the amenities that makes it work for the families who stay there — a private walkway carrying guests straight from the neighborhood to the sand, no hauling coolers and chairs across a public parking lot required. It's worth being upfront about one thing: this access point is private to the Ships Watch community. If you're not renting or staying within Ships Watch, this particular boardwalk isn't for you, and you'll want to use one of Duck's public beach accesses instead.
For Ships Watch guests, though, it's a genuine convenience — an easy walk-on for a beach day with kids, chairs, and umbrellas in tow. Like the rest of Duck's shoreline, the beach here is wide and noticeably quieter than the core beaches to the south, backed by the same unbroken Atlantic that runs the length of the barrier island. Duck's soundside boardwalk, shops, and restaurants are just a short drive or bike ride away, so a stay near this access makes it easy to split time between beach mornings and town evenings without much of a commute either way.
If you're weighing a rental within Ships Watch, this boardwalk is one of the community's core draws. If you're visiting Duck more broadly and aren't staying there, look for one of the town's public beach access points instead.
