A+ for Wild Horse Adventure Tours in Corolla, NC! 💯
We did the 6:30pm sunset Humvee tour to see the Wild Horses of Corolla, and it was absolutely magnificent, spectacular, breath-taking, and somehow even BETTER than expected!! ✨ 🐎
Jason was our tour guide, in his 2nd season. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Northern Outer Banks, the horses, and the recent (over)development of the area. He was friendly, welcoming, and made sure everyone felt safe & comfortable throughout the 2-hr adventure along the coast of the northern 4x4 end of Corolla and Corova beach.
Of the approximately 120 total horses in the entire herd, we saw over HALF of them! It was absolutely incredible, and Jason said, "It doesn't get any better than this!" 🌅
There were black stallions, chestnut mares, and newborn foals all around the beachfront, and one little guy had the "zoomies" -- but only for a few seconds until he realized he had run off a bit too far away from mommy! 🥰
After we turned around at the halfway point to head back, the pink color of the "cotton candy" 🍭 skies was captured in the gentle white surf of the breaking waves. The natural beauty of the animals in their true habitat, the wide sandy beach, the ocean, and the changing skies was breathtaking. 😲

Excellent tour. Jason was knowledgeable about the horses, and patient with answering all our many questions. We got to see 1 harem and 3 or 4 bachelors, maybe more. It was fun to see the horses just hanging out on people's yards. It had rained the whole day so we were not sure what the tour would be like but it cleared up just in time. Ultimately, I think it was great because it was a very nice temperature, not oppressively hot like it can be. The hummer was comfortable and Jason drove safely and well. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.
We had an amazing experience with Wild Horse Adventure Tours! Our guide, Dean, truly made the trip memorable. We were fortunate to see more than a dozen wild horses, including two adorable foals with their mother.
Dean was incredibly knowledgeable about the horses, the Outer Banks, and the area’s rich history. He shared interesting facts throughout the tour while keeping everyone engaged and entertained. Safety was always his top priority, which made us feel comfortable as we explored the beach, dunes, and trails.
Seeing the wild horses in their natural habitat was unforgettable, and Dean’s expertise and enthusiasm made the experience even better. If you’re visiting the Outer Banks, I highly recommend Wild Horse Adventure Tours and if you get Dean as your guide, you’re in for a great adventure!
My wife and I are honeymooning in the OBX and this wild horse tour through WHAT was absolutely amazing! It was the first excursion of our week and was an absolute blast to kick us off. We saw over 25 horses which felt like a lot for us city folk, so it blew my mind when our guide Geoff told us that 76 was the record that folks had seen on a previous tour! These horses are so powerful, wild, and majestic. We got to see a 1-2 week old baby foal too! Our guide Geoff was the best. He gave us a ton of knowledge and insider info on the horses, other wildlife, history, conservation work, and more! He also drove us so close to the water that it felt like we were flying right above it when we looked out the side of the Hummer. I would highly recommend WHAT to any visitor or OBX native. The awesome open-air Humvees, beautiful horses, kindness of the hosts, and knowledge + energy of the guides made this experience a 10/10
We had such an amazing time while visiting the outer banks, this tour with our driver Cheryl aka Shorty was amazing. We made it to the 3p tour, purchased the tickets while visiting the area, they were able to take care of us immediately. The staff here are very accommodating and so much fun. The ride can be bumpy, but so worth it. We learned so much and saw so many horses and the ride along the beach was absolutely beautiful. If you are in the area definitely recommend doing this tour.
