• Bring your own canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard — the designated launch area is reserved for these craft and is not a ramp for motorized boats.
• Combine the paddle with a walk: since the launch sits at the start of the Duck Boardwalk, it's an easy add-on to a day spent walking the boardwalk or browsing the village shops.
• Not paddling? A crabbing and fishing platform sits alongside the launch for a lower-key way to spend time on the water.
• The park also has a Town Green, playground, and picnic shelter, so it works well for a family stop before or after time on the sound.

Getting to the Duck Boardwalk Kayak Launch

The launch sits inside Duck Town Park, an 11-acre soundside park at 1200 Duck Road in Duck. It's positioned right where the Duck Boardwalk begins its nearly mile-long run north along Currituck Sound toward the Waterfront Shops. If you'd rather tie up than launch by hand, public boat slips are available at the park's north and south ends.
