Carolina Cottage is a vacation rental on N Croatan Hwy in Kitty Hawk, set right along the corridor that runs the length of the northern Outer Banks beach towns. From here the Atlantic is a short hop east and Currituck Sound just as close on the west side, with Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head both within easy reach for the day.

Like the rest of the northern Outer Banks, this area runs busiest from Memorial Day through Labor Day, while April, May, September, and October bring lighter traffic and easier parking without sacrificing beach weather. Being right on Croatan Highway also puts grocery stores, restaurants, and shops within a short drive, so there's rarely a need to go far from the rental for day-to-day essentials.
