Courtyard Villas on Silver Lake Harbor

Courtyard Villas on Silver Lake Harbor puts guests right on Ocracoke's historic anchorage, the small harbor that's been the working center of the village since long before any ferry system existed. From here it's a short walk to the village's shops and restaurants and the National Park Service visitor center, and not much farther to Ocracoke Lighthouse and the maritime forest at Springer's Point.

Getting Here

Ocracoke has no bridge or road connection to the mainland. The free NC ferry from Hatteras village takes about an hour; the toll ferries from Cedar Island and Swan Quarter run roughly 2.25 hours from the mainland side. All three routes land within walking distance of Silver Lake, so travelers arriving by boat can reach the villas without needing a car on the island.

Good to Know

• The on-site office keeps daytime hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. seven days a week, for check-in and questions.
• Ocracoke's remoteness means it's especially exposed during hurricane season (June–November, with the sharpest risk August–October) — ferry service can be suspended on short notice, so it's worth keeping travel plans flexible in season.
