Dare Haven Motel
A no-frills motel on Roanoke Island's main highway, near Manteo and the historic north end
About
Dare Haven Motel sits along U.S. 64/264 on Roanoke Island, the highway that carries traffic across the island and into downtown Manteo. It's a straightforward, no-frills motel rather than a resort property — a place to park the car and sleep, with Manteo's Shallowbag Bay waterfront district and the island's historic sites not far away.
Roanoke Island isn't large, so nothing on it is ever far from anything else. From Dare Haven, you're within easy reach of:
- Downtown Manteo's walkable waterfront around Shallowbag Bay
- The historic north-end cluster — Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Elizabethan Gardens, The Lost Colony outdoor drama, and Roanoke Island Festival Park
- The bridges connecting the island to the mainland and to the barrier-island beach towns
As with any independently run motel, specific check-in hours aren't listed here, so it's worth calling ahead at (252) 473-2322 or checking the property's website for current rates and availability before you book.

I’m here as I type this now actually but I feel like I got swindled out of $25 in change. Also, the room is nice but you can see and smell black mold absolutely everywhere! I don’t know about yall but I’ll never come back here again. EVER!
