Mia's Boutique Hotel

A boutique stay on Nags Head's Beach Road, a short drive from Jockey's Ridge State Park's dunes

About

Mia's Boutique Hotel sits on S Virginia Dare Trail — Nags Head's Beach Road — which puts it on the ocean side of town rather than back along the bypass. It's a boutique-style property, a smaller and more personal alternative to some of the area's bigger resort-style stays, close to the beach and just a few minutes' drive from the rest of the Nags Head strip in either direction.

The location works well as a base for exploring the northern Outer Banks. It's a short drive from Jockey's Ridge State Park's dunes — the tallest natural sand dune system on the East Coast, worth the climb for sunset views over the sound — and a similarly easy trip to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills. Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk are both close by along the same Beach Road/Croatan Highway corridor that ties this stretch of the Outer Banks together.

Peak summer books up fast here, but the shoulder seasons in spring and fall bring quieter beaches and easier parking without giving up the weather. For current rates, room details, and availability, contact Mia's Boutique Hotel directly by phone or through its website.

It’s not clear on the website which side you’re on. I booked it thinking we had beach side to find out we are on the other side of the road from the beach. Very misleading.

We stayed at the courtyard hotel and it was a last minute needed vacation. It was a nice stay but for the price a bit steep for such a cramped bathroom. We liked the convenience of being closer to the beach and that the room was cleaned well upon arrival. We didn't like how small the bathroom was, and the spot for the toilet was so tiny that it was hard to even wipe properly, and the shower was not a walk-in at all according to the online description. The shower was small and hard for my tall husband to get a good shower. Also the sink would stop up in the bathroom. The room's walls were thin, and sometimes the neighbors would wake us as a result. However the staff was friendly and everyone there is so nice. Behind us was a sand dune you walk over that took you directly to the beach which was nice. Also parking was limited and tight so we didn't go anywhere as to not lose our spot. House keeping only upon request. For $1600plus for a week it was nice but the bathrooms and paper thin walls was a bust. We did get needed rest when we could though. 🙂
