Ocracoke Beach Outfitters

A village stop in Ocracoke for gear and rentals, open every day of the week

Ocracoke, NC

About

Ocracoke Beach Outfitters sits on Irvin Garrish Highway in Ocracoke Village, offering gear and rentals for visitors getting around the island. Ocracoke is reachable only by ferry — the free NC ferry from Hatteras, or the longer toll ferries from Cedar Island and Swan Quarter on the mainland — so many people arrive without a vehicle, which makes a village outfitter a practical stop for what's needed to get to the beach or explore the area around Silver Lake Harbor. The shop keeps steady hours, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. As with any small island business, it's worth calling ahead at (252) 921-0311 to confirm current rental availability and pricing before making the trip over.

Easy to find and fair prices!

We rented three bikes today, super pleasant and helpful owner. Bikes plus nice helmets - great way to coast to the beach and back! (Go dolphins today, also)

Years ago our daughter learned to ride her bike on Ocracoke and she was determined to replicate her experience for her son. His bike would not fit in our SUV; therefore,a rental was our only option. Being preseason, we were so appreciative to catch the owner in his golf cart office. He insisted on leaving the site to take us down the road to his bike storage to fit us with both youth and adult sized bikes. They were well serviced, easily adjustable to individual heights. We will definitely use Ocracoke Outfitters for both our bike and golf carts needs in the future based on our biking experience.

Excellent customer service!! Even out of season John, the owner, was able to help us obtain bikes for our family vacation AND even gave us (and the bikes) a ride home! The bikes worked great for my grandsons first real biking experience! Thank you again!
